On CFOX radio in Vancouver*, they do this thing called Hump at the Pump. Basically, they find two complete strangers and get them to make out at a gas station, pumping gas into their cars for as long as they keep making out. The radio guy pumping the gas gives a play-by-play over the radio and then they put the video of it up on the net (click here to witness an example of the debauchery).
So, the question is: would you make out with a complete stranger for free gas? Keep in mind that here in Vancouver, gas currently cost about $1.20 a litre. (For my American readers, 1 litre = 0.264 gallons... so we are talking like $4.50 per gallon).
*I'm willing to bet that they do this at radio stations in other cities too. Radio stations seem to be the same no matter where you go.

Nightmares, Hump for the Hip and omg it's freaking hot out
Seeing as how I've been done school for almost an entire year, you'd think that I wouldn't have that nightmare where I'm supposed to write an exam but only discover this fact at the time of the exam - I don't know where the exam is being held and I certainly haven't studied for it, as I only just found out that I am even in the course! I haven't even taken an exam in over 3.5 years! To make it even weirder, it was an English exam... and I haven't had an English class since 1995!
In other news, I just listened to the best Hump at the Pump ever! Billed as "Hump for the Hip" as the participants won tickets to the Tragically Hip concert, as well as a catered suite where they get to meet the Hip, this H@tP involved a threesome (complete with man pagent to chose the lucky boy who got to partake) and police witnesses. I'll post a link to the video when it's up on the CFOX website.
In other, other news - it's freaking hot out. Already, at 8:13 am. And I live in a basement, where it is usually nice and cool. I guess that's what happens when it's the hottest day ever in the history of Vancouver, which is what today's forecast calls for. Yesterday was also one mofo of a hot day - I decided to sit outside in the sun (because I'm a masochist, apparently) and drink a Frappucino (because they are tasty, albeit calorific) in the afternoon while doing some reading (did I ever mention that I *love* my job?)... today may call for a repeat of that, if I don't melt first. Then I have a softball game. Let's consider the Frappucino carbo-loading and/or pre-hydration, k?
And speaking of work, I should go there now. Catch ya later.

Hump at the Pump - This Time It's a Threesome
As promised, here's the link to the latest Hump at the Pump - This Time It's a Threesome.
Now, I feel obliged to warn you that (a) this is probably NSFW, and (b) more importantly, it is really not worth watching. Let's just say that the guy involved in this has a face (and a body) for radio. If you must, I suggest listening to the audio but do not - I repeat DO NOT - watch the video! You've been warned.

Wear the Fox Hat
The same radio station that brought you Hump at the Pump has recently had a new contest: "Wear the Fox Hat"* 99 people won the opportunity to wear this silly looking fox hat 24/7... didn't matter what you were doing - when you slept, when you showered, when you had sex, you had to wear the fox hat... and the one who wore it the longest would win $10,000 and a new car. This gave the radio station plenty of fodder - they sent DJs out to ambush contestants at homes or their place of employment. Some guy was a welder and wore his hat under his welding mask. Some girl quit her job to stay at home and wear the hat.
A subcontest of this contest was that if you saw any of the contestants wearing one of these hats and you got a picture of yourself with them, you could send it in to the radio station and one name would be drawn from all those who submitted photos and that person would get tickets to every concert that CFOX hosts for the rest of 2007.
So, last month on the Aggies trip to Roosters, guess who saw a guy in a fox hat?

I asked him if he really wore his hat all the time, "You really haven't washed your hair since this contest started? Have you had sex wearing that hat??" He swore that he had never taken it off. And he had a girlfriend and that they had, in fact, had sex while he wore that hat.
My friend Jamie was with me, so we got a pic of her too and we both emailed them into try to win concert tix:

And guess who won??
Not me. And not Jamie. Some guy we never heard of won. Stupid guy we don't know.
But, I did just hear on the radio that the winner of the $10,000 and the car was none other than hat #84. Take a closer look at those photos. Yup, that guy is wearing hat #84.
*say it aloud. It's funny, trust me.

Radio Stars
Now that I'm a 9 to 5er, I spend about 8 hours a day listening to the radio. I am partial to the station that brings you Hump at the Pump and Wear the Fox Hat. On the morning show, they have open phones and every time they have a different set of rules. One of the rules is always, "No swearing," but the other rules are devised, I'm pretty sure, based on the DJs mood. Yesterday it was "No Calgarians. Calgary is embarrassing Canada, so no Calgarians are allowed to call today during open phones." Today they expanded it to "No Albertans. Sure the Flames won last night, but they are still embarassing us." What's not to like about a show like that?!
Another reason I like that station is because, like everyone else in Vancouver, the DJs there are obsessed with all things Canucks right now and have a hate on for the evil Dallas Stars (or Dallas Douchebags, as they like to call them). Several times a day you get to hear: "Welcome to Dallas, birthplace of Osama bin Laden." And they like to do prank phone calls too. Yesterday one of them called the stadium in Dallas, saying that he is a Canucks fan who was going to the game in Dallas and was wondering where he can put his 7 live beavers that he will be bringing to the game for good luck. "I've bought tickets for them, but was just wondering if you have a pen I can put them in when I go to get my beer." It always amazes me how long people will stay on the phone with a prank caller, taking them seriously.
Today's prank call was even funnier. When we beat the Stars tomorrow (Thursday) night, they will be eliminated from the playoffs, meaning they will be getting an early start on the golf season compared with hockey players on good teams who continue on in the playoffs. So this DJ he called the Dallas Stars office and said, "I'm with the Dallas National Golf Course and I'm calling to confirm a tee time on Friday for a foursome of Mike Modano, Sergei Zubov, Joel Lundqvist and Marty Turco."
*snicker*
